Tears of joy turn to tears of pain.
A soft, gentle rain, to a bitter flood.
The lush forest now lies a barren plain,
Where nothing lives and nothing moves,
but the silent river of despair.
The strongest heart shudders from the silence;
and the fiercest warrior falls to his knees from
the destruction.
For once such devestation has been wrought,
It cannot be undone.

The soul laid bare is a terrible thing,
Filled with doors best left unopened.
For once let loose the demons rise
And hearts are ever broken.
The battle rages-in defense the mind
Brings logic to the fore,
To slay the demons one by one,
But not forever more.
----------------------
The shadow of my mind eclipses my soul
So that my heart is alone in the darkness.
Searching, groping, desperate to be free
from the unending prison of silence,
the eternal frost of nothingness;
It claws and scrapples, begs and pleads,
until there is nothing left to do
But sleep the sleep of dreamers.

The Vampire's Seduction
It's not your body I want, my love,
Of that you can be certain.
What I want from you means so much more,
An end to all life's hurtin'.
The veil of life keeps us apart.
Too separate for our good.
The future could be limitless,
If tear the cloth I could.
So, bare your neck and let me drink
The blood of mortal life.
Then partake of mine and you will be
My own immortal wife.

Dreams
Like so many pieces of shattered glass
they lie crushed beneath the feet of reality.
Desperately, frantically, my heart tries to piece them
back together,
Until it too lies among the rubble-a bloody remnant of
what might have been.
Yet my mind won't have it and takes control-raging fiercely
to save my soul from the frigid night of hopelessness.
Sweeping the evidence of destruction into a dark corner
until time repeats the process.
